Troop and I

Having Spider-Man has been pretty awesome BUT, it's no fun to play with him while he's on his invisible motorcycle.  So, I did what any normal person would do, I bought a toy; A Storm Trooper whom I call, Troop.

I was really looking for Han, Chewy or Darth, but they were gone.  I'm not too fond of Luke and Leia so no.  Troop though, being part of the Empire and pure evil, was the logical choice.  (I root for the underdog, ok?)  And now, our adventures begin.  First up, Smashburger.

Troop and I, along with Chapa, headed out to Smashburger, a location on The List to find out for ourselves whether it was still the best burger I ever ate.  The burger was juicy, seasoned very well, cooked to perfection (medium) and oh man, there aren't enough words to describe how awesome it was.  For realsies, I cannot wait to go back and eat another one.  The fries went down to ok after being ranked yum a few years ago.  But, who cares when you have that burger, the one I forgot to take a picture of because it was delicious.

You so silly, Troop.  This isn't Return of the Jedi.

Sundays typically are House of Pies days for us, and Troop was happy to join in.  So far, we're having a good time and no waitstaff have given me the you crazy eye from playing with Troop as we wait for our food.

Bitty Girl, on the other hand, isn't too frazzled by another evil entity in house.  Not while it's time to clean the fur, that is.  Will they join forces or will a war break out?  Stay tuned.

Chicken, the original white meat

Back to Barbecue Inn this weekend after taking a break. Chapa and I went on to discuss pretty intense stuff during the 20-25 minute wait on the chicken. It was so intense that I'm sure I'll remember what it was about tomorrow in the middle of the night. What can I say? I'm in my early 30s, ok? And the chicken, mmmm, is just that good. So crispy, so moist, so yum.

The weather is on the verge of turning as if it were bitten by a zombie. However, today, as I made a Central Market run, I felt that ugly heat we all endured during the month of August make an unwelcome return. Already the Halloween/Fall decorations have made their appearance and, rumor has it, Uptown is prepping for the holiday lighting. Too soon? Definitely.

So, I turned 34....

And I ate.

PF Chang's Great Wall of Chocolate of which I only ate a bite of.

The Breakfast Klub's chicken and waffles.

Guitar wallet missing the record coin purse I'll get later.

Brother's pizza = yum.

Oh baby...

Someone tried the meatball sub.

I met shaved ice this weekend and we fell in love.

I failed to take so many other pictures of the things I did, the things I ate and the people I hung out with as I celebrated my early 30s. I tried new places to eat, I saw people I hadn't seen in months, I came home at 3a, I saw Machete and laughed, I ate my glorious Brother's pizza with 3 of my BFFs, I drove with the windows down and I was happy. And then I got the sniffles. No worries though cause, "The dishes are done, man."

Barbecue Inn

I found the most amazing chicken fried steak, and fried chicken, I had ever had in my life. Barbecue Inn's chicken fried steak is so amazing that I failed to take a picture of it. The crust actually stays on the steak itself and the gravy, have mercy, Uncle Jesse. I even failed to take a picture of the southern fried chicken I had but, never fear, Underdog went back Saturday afternoon with Chapa and tried again where I found they actually make the most amazing ribs I ever had. Seriously, wtf at this place hoarding all the best stuff?

The ribs were so moist, soft, smokey, so yummy that I cannot wait to go back Saturday afternoon with the BNC.

Their southern fried chicken is so juicy on the inside, so crunchy on the outside that the 20-25 minute wait while they make it for you is forgiveable and you can't really hate on that cause they are making it for you on the spot.

Chapa tried the fried seafood platter that consisted of shrimp, oysters and the biggest crab cake I had ever seen. I'm not a big seafood fan, unless it's Lent season, so I have to rely on Chapa's comments which came back as yum.

I've had my regular barbeque (barbecue, BBQ) places but I can honestly say, that after a visit here, and then Hickory Hollow Sunday, that resulted in dried out chicken and sloppy chicken fried steak, it's safe to say that Barbecue Inn will be it for a long while. I, along with the BNC and Chapa look forward to it.

Dead of Dysentry

Oregon Trail! I remember playing this game so much that, now that I think about it, what was the educational value? I suspect the computer teacher was pawning us off. Cleva gurl! Geez, I sure do miss elementary school.

I always chose to be the banker. I don't know why. But, I do remember when I first made it to Oregon. Glorious day! Much like the one time I beat my BNC at NWO Revenge using Chris Jericho where I stood atop my opponent and the referee slowly, I mean seriously, slooooowly counted to 3 and I won. People still talk about it to this day, mainly me. My retirement was swift and immediate after the win while talk of a rematch has continued since but no, I've moved on.

Which leads me to UFC this Saturday night where, once again, with Chapa in tow, we'll be at Buffalo Wild Wings.

HRH Buffalo Princess, Margie

I'm preferential to lemon pepper wings but Buffalo Wild Wings doesn't have any. So, I made my own. I went to the store and purchased nothing but drumettes cause that other part, the one where you have to push the chicken meat out, is hard work. I also managed to find a lemon pepper marinade as well as a teriyaki one. Dudes, they were delish!

I'm completely anti-veggies so no celery and carrots here. Nah, I'm getting me some orzo with olive oil, salt and pepper.

Saturday, we headed out to BWW (Buffalo Wild Wings) to watch UFC. We got there around 7p in order to secure a booth. The fight didn't start until 9p and while at first I thought we were too early, just about 30 minutes later did we realize we made the right choice. It was packed and there was a waiting line. One of my BFFs, herein known as Chapa, and I were the ones holding the booth while we grazed on the food and waited for the BNC and B who were set to join us later.

Honey BBQ wings. Nice but still no lemon pepper. But hey, they made me a Buffalo Princess.

However, as I tried to record the coronation, this MFer just couldn't follow instructions for a camera. "Dude, hold it down."

That would be this MFer. The same MFer who likes the Magic Hat drink, has two hollow legs, one for drink and one for food. How unbecoming of a Buffalo Princess!

But I got to hang out with B and watch, shockingly, Brock Lesnar submit Shane Carwin. I have been humbled as well, Brock.

With my Prince Consort, the BNC.

I've grew up in this hood, moved away for a few years and came back and yet I cannot explain why I'm at BWW a lot except that Chapa drinks and I don't so he's using me to be the designated driver and that's ok since he picks up the tab.
